After a long wait, the release of the Gold movie directed by Alphonse Puthren starring Prithviraj and Nayanthara is announced. Although it was announced that Alphonse Puthren would hit the theaters this past Onam, the release of Gold was delayed due to some technical issues and incomplete post-production work. When media persons asked one of the producers, Listin Stephen, about the film’s release, he did not get a definite answer. Prithviraj plays the role of Joshi in Gold. Nayanthara will play the role of Sumangali Unnikrishnan. The teaser of the film was released earlier. But some reports say that the trailer or the song of the film will not be released before the release. Apart from Prithviraj and Nayanthara the film also has Shammi Thilakan, Mallika Sukumaran, Vinay Fort, Altaf Saleem, Sabumon, Chemban Vinod, Baburaj, Krishna Shankar, Sabreesh Verma, Roshan Mathew, Lalu Alex, Jafar Idukki, Jagadish, Abu Saleem, Suresh Krishna, Deepti Sati, Sudhish, Ajmal Amir, Prem Kumar, Saiju Nare, Justin John, Faisal Mohammad, and M A Shiyas.
Alphonse Putran himself handled the film’s story, editing, conflict, VFX, animation, color grading, etc. Anand C Chandran has done the cinematography of the film. Gold also has the distinction of Alphonse Puthren’s film coming seven years after the release of Premam. Gold is Alphonse’s third film in his career. Alphonse’s first two films were Neram and Premam starring Nivin Pauly.
