After Theri and Mersal, Vijay and director Atlee successful duo are coming with a new film named Bigil. The first look of the film was released on 21 June 2019 at 6 PM and the second look was released hours after it at 12 AM on June 22. It was released on June 22, because June 22 was the birthday of Vijay.
The first look was released by director Atlee as a twitter post captioned with “birthday gift for Vijay anna”. The film will most likely be a Deepavali release. The first look features Vijay in two different avatars; one as an old aged man wearing an Indian veshti and sitting near an ‘arival’ and other as a youthful guy holding a football and standing behind the older avatar.
“Bigil” is the colloquial term of Whistle in Tamil and is reportedly a sports drama with Vijay appearing as a football coach. It is said the Bigil is the story of a football coach who coaches a women’s football team. With the release first and second look, it is also confirmed that title is ‘Bigil’ and not Thalapathi 63 (a title decided and rumoured earlier).
The second look has Vijay appearing in three different outlooks one that of an old aged man, other as a young guy wearing a football jersey and third one of a young or middle aged man in a suit. It is not clear whether Vijay is appearing in a double or triple role in the new movie or if its life of the same character depicted with different avatars.

Actor Nayanthara will be appearing as the female lead in the movie. Besides her Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, Vivek, Daniel Balaji, Varsha Bollamma, Kathir, Robo Shanker and Yogi Babu will be appearing in this new Vijay Starrer sports movie. The legendary Oscar winner AR Rahman is composing for the movie. KG Vishnu handles the cinematography. Production is by AGS Entertainment.
