Early life and education
Adeline Castelino was born to a Catholic couple in the city of Kuwait. Her parents are Alphonsus and Meera Castelino and belong to Mangalore. The family was originally situated in the Udyavara district in the Udupi city in Karnataka. Castelino studied at the Indian Central School in Kuwait. At the age of 15, Castelino came back to India and she then went to the St. Xavier High School in Mumbai. After schooling, she then completed her MBA graduation at the Wilson College of Mumbai.
Social work
Castelino is associated with a welfare organization known as Vikas Sahayog Pratishthan (VSP) the main aim of the organization is to provide a livelihood for the framers so that they can stop the farmers from committing suicides and inequality. She has managed to raise funds for the Child Help Foundation (CHF), via a platform that is entirely funded by the people and it is called Ketto. She has also been active in providing essentials like sanitizers, food, and masks for the Desire society, it is a non-profit voluntary organization that takes care of the children who are suffering from HIV in India.
Pageantry
Castelino does not just do modeling but also has taken part in the 4th season of India’s Miss TGPC Season-4 and won the pageant. Then at the Cocoaberry Training Academy in Mumbai, she then started her preparations for the pageants. The institution held a pageant in 2019, where she won the ‘Miss Cocoberry Diva’ title.
Miss Diva 2020
In the year 2019, Castelino took part in the auditions for the Miss Diva 2020 contest, held in Chennai and she was one of the finalists. In the final round, Castelino was in the top 20 finalists. She was awarded as the “Miss Smasher” in badminton sports round that took place in the Bennett University in Mumbai. She eventually won the Miss Diva Universe 2020 crown on the 22nd of February 2020, she was crowned by the previous winner Vartika Singh at the Yash Raj Studio, in Andheri, Mumbai.
In the final round of questioner Castelino was one of the top 5 contestants and she was questioned by the host Malaika Arora “Does religion unite or divide people?”
To which Castelino answered: “Religion definitely unites people. It has values that bring people together. People believing in the same things come together and stay in harmony. When I first came here from Kuwait, I really loved the fact that in India, all religions stay together in harmony. We celebrate Diwali, Christmas, Eid all together, and what a beautiful scene that is! Here we can stay together, respect each other’s beliefs, and be in harmony. We can progress with each other and move forward to the future.”
Miss Universe 2020
Castelino will represent India at the Miss Universe 2020 beauty pageant, as the winner of the Miss Universe Diva 2020.
